Yesterday was Parker's 6th Birthday. How time flies! It seems just like yesterday that we received the phone call that a baby boy had born that morning and a family was needed to come get him from the hosptial. God was so merciful to choose our family to be part of Parker's life. What delight he brings to us all with his sweet smile and joyful heart.
Parker began his birthday with a trip to Ada. Mama took Parker to get a couple of doughnuts for his special breakfast and to do some birthday shopping. Grandpa & Nana sent Parker some money for his birthday and Parker decided that new cowboy boots were just what he needed. After finding the perfect cowboy boots (not work boots, as his mama tried to convince him to buy) and a baseball hat to go with his "Security Party" theme at the Surplus Store, Parker and Mama went to Wal-Mart to pick up a few more supplies for Parker's birthday celebration. With a new flashlight and two foam disk shooting guns in hand (one for Becker...Parker is always so thoughtful to remember his brother), the next stop was at Sonic for a birthday lunch. Parker appreciates a good corn dog, so this was quite the treat for our growing birthday boy. After lunch, we headed home to prepare for his Security Birthday Party.
Parker planned his birthday party. The Mount family and the Russell's just HAD to come to help him celebrate turning six. The children drank rootbeer from a can while the adults were to drink theirs from a 2 liter bottle. Pizza was served followed by chocolate cupcakes with white frosting and ice cream. All things Parker requested. Parker was blessed with many delightful gifts, much to his great joy. All in all, it was a very busy and exciting day. Turning six really worked for Parker!
