Happy 8th Birthday Parker!

On Sunday, January 3rd, Parker turned eight! He chose a pirate theme for his celebration and we invited the Mount family to join us for afternoon of fun. The Mount family has to be the best sports around when it comes to dressing up for theme parties. They are always willing to wear whatever is asked and come with smiles on their faces. Even Grandma Mary was willing to wear a pirate mask. We appreciate the Mount family greatly!

We had a delicious "pirate" lunch followed by an action packed game of Last Man on the Island (think musical chairs set to pirate songs). Parker was blessed with many wonderful gifts and couldn't have been more thrilled. He was very happy with the new camo jacket from Grandpa & Nana...just in time for our under 20 degree weather! A humorous part of the day was when Parker began opening his gifts to discover that the sword he had been looking for had been wrapped up by Clay, along with Becker's pen, as a gift for him. Earlier, we had stopped Clay from wrapping up Parker's Christmas roller blades to give to Parker. What a resourceful little guy Clay is becoming! It was a great day and Parker felt loved and very special.

An added bonus is now that Parker is eight, he is eligible to attend ALERT Cadets with Becker during our annual home education conference the end of April. How the time has flown by! Parker was only two when we moved to Oklahoma almost six years ago. Parker continues to be a tremendous joy and is becoming quite the young man. We are blessed to have him as part of our family and we will be forever grateful that God chose to send him our way. Happy 8th Birthday Parker. We Love YOU!!
