A Real Fish Story

Becker and Parker had opportunity to go fishing today. After all their school work was done, they went down to the pond with fishing pools in hand and climbed into the boat. They spent the afternoon floating around trying to catch a big one. Becker was so excited when he landed a 10" crappie. The boys were eager to show their dad the fish, so they came up with a great plan to keep it alive until Brent got home. In the past, we have put fish into the goat's or horse's water troughs. The boys figured that the dog's water would work equally as well. So you can imagine their surprise when they took Brent out to show him the fish, only to find the fish gone...with Vickie, our border collie, looking content with a bulging belly! Brent and the boys found the entire situation most amusing. I doubt the boys will ever forget the fish that "got away"!
