We are all very excited with the news that Grandpa & Grandma Mattie will soon be in Oklahoma! Grandma called yesterday with the delightful news that Grandpa had bought tickets and they will be arriving in Oklahoma City this Saturday. This is a completely unexpected visit! The last time Grandpa and Grandma were able to come to Oklahoma, it was in November of 2006. How wonderful to think we will be soon be seeing them again.
As many of you may know, Grandma Mattie suffers from a rare blood disorder called Aplastic Anemia. Traveling is always dependent on her health and permission from her doctor. A window of time to travel has unexpectedly opened up and Grandma is choosing to make this trip. We are all delighted! It is not known if Grandma will ever be able to make the trip again, so we are praising God for this special gift.
Brent and I are going to be heading to Dallas this afternoon to pick Hattie up for the weekend. We are grateful that the EXCEL program is going to allow Hattie to come home to spend some time with her grandparents. What makes it even more special is that Sunday, March 2nd, is Grandma Mattie's birthday. How fabulous to be able to celebrate with her!
Unfortunately, Susanna will not being seeing her grandparents on their visit. Susanna is still very new to the RAD Unit and has many needs, so she will not be coming home on a pass at this time. With all the illness going around and traveling being very tiring on Grandma, Grandma will not be making the trip to Tulsa to see Susanna. We are sorry for this but trust that God arranges all things for His glory and our good.
We are looking forward to seeing Grandpa and Grandma again. We also looking forward to seeing Hattie again. Two unexpected visits, what a blessing! Yes, we never know what a day will bring.
