Hattie in Excelonia

It is hard to believe that Hattie has been in Dallas for almost six weeks already! With all praise to God, Hattie has been doing well at EXCEL. She greatly appreciates all the support she has received while away from home. The prayers, cards and letters are a blessing to her. Hattie shared that mail is a treasured gift to all the girls in the program.

Recently, Sun Young had to leave EXCEL to return home to South Korea. She was accepted into a University and needed to return home earlier than expected. Both Hattie and Bethany were very sorry to see their friend and roommate leave. Sun Young left the day the "dreaded" Excellence in Communication week started. It was joked about that some people would do anything to get out of EIC! Fortunately, the "writing week" is behind all the girls in the program now and they can take a huge sigh of relief. With Sun Young no longer at EXCEL, she has access to the Internet and graciously sent these photos of Hattie. The circle of girls are Hattie and her teammates, Sun Young, Bethany, Bekah, Anna and Jillian. The next is of Hattie and her roommate and friend, Bethany. It does this Mama's heart good to lay eyes on her ever so missed daughter. Thank you Sun Young!

After being at EXCEL for four weeks, Hattie was able to join a couple of her teammates for a shopping excursion on a Saturday afternoon. Who would have ever thought Wal-Mart could look so good?! Hattie was delighted to walk through a local mall and then hit Wal-Mart on the way back. The best part of the time out was a surprise visit with her Uncle Brian, Aunt Lianne and cousins, Zack & Ben. The Elliott family live near Fort Worth and made arrangements with the host parent to meet Hattie while at the mall. Hattie was blessed by her time with them and appreciated them coming to meet her. I was so grateful to get a good report from Aunt Lianne after the visit. Aunt Lianne was able to share first hand that Hattie is doing well, looked healthy and seemed happy. Praise the Lord!

EXCEL continues to challenge, bless and encourage Hattie in her walk with God. We are grateful for this life changing experience and praise God for this opportunity for Hattie. Hattie is in the home stretch now. Lord willing, she will graduate with her class on March 14th. We are all looking forward to this joyous occassion.

Thank you for all the prayers, support and encouragement given on Hattie's behalf. May God bless you.
