When Brent, Lillie & I arrived in Liberia to pick up the triplet's in 2005, Brent just couldn't resist asking if Clay was an "added bonus" they were throwing in to get more children placed in the United States. After all, Camie & Emma obviously looked like they belonged together and Clay looked nothing like the girls. We were blessed to meet their birth mother, Josephine, who assured us that "yes," all three were hers and born at the same time. The bond between the three is easily seen and adds confirmation to Josephine's words. Since the day Clayton Patrick Elliott came into our lives, he has definitely been our "added bonus."Clay is an interesting little guy, to say the least. He has more energy than even the most energetic little boy and seems to be in too many places at one time. He is very particular with his food...organizing his food by colors, dividing food or breaking it up until it is even, and needing to have groups of 10. He has picked up an "in quotes thing" with him fingers when talking...hmmm, wonder where that could have come from?! Clay does amazing sidewards flips on the trampoline that impress his older brothers greatly. He loves his mama and likes to cuddle yet is the first to run outside to play with guns or do whatever his brothers are involved with. He is the bravest of the three when it comes to playing with Joy. He is a whiz at math and could watch his math and letter videos for hours at a time. Clay loves to sing. He has an wonderful voice but gets self conscience if other are listening. As a matter of fact, all three of the triplet's have wonderful voices and are able to harmonize without any help. He has picked up Parker's love to draw and spends lots of time with markers and paper. Clay has a smile that could charm the spots of a leopard and wins the heart of his family daily.
We praise God for our special "added bonus" and enjoy being part of Clay's interest life.
