Rifle season is upon us and Becker was thrilled to take his second doe. Becker's first doe came during the youth hunting weekend in October. His most current doe was taken this past weekend. Brent was very pleased that she was an older doe weighing 80 pounds field dressed. This is exactly the type of doe that is wanted to help with our deer management plan. Becker is not the only successful hunter of this rifle season. Brian Chatham took a doe the first weekend and Bob Craig took a doe and a buck as well. Jason Smith was also blessed to take a doe this past weekend. There is still one more weekend to hunt so the search continues for three HUGE bucks that have been spotted on game cameras on the property.
Hunting starts young in this neck of the woods. Caleb Chatham 5 (above with Becker) is also a hunter. Caleb hunts as often as his dad will bring him. Just as all the men are hunting buddies, we are raising another generation of hunting buddies for many more seasons to come!
