On Saturday, Oklahoma Baptist University held the 72nd Annual Hanging of the Greens. It was a delightful holiday event filled with LOTS of Christmas music and holiday joy. Lillie and Dennah were blessed to be include as part of the orchestra. Lillie and Dennah both played in the Violin II section with Lillie being 2nd chair and Dennah being 3rd chair. It was so special to watch and think how the Lord has grown their music skills since the Suzuki twinkler days! Our family was blessed to have the Chatham family, Jim & Debbie Funk and the Kraft family make the trip to OBU to watch this special event with us. Good friends are truly a gift from God!
*The photos above were taken at the rehearsal just before the event started so everything looks more casual than the actual event looked. We are glad to have these as no photos with flash were able to be taken during the event.
The Hanging of the Greens event really worked for Dennah….playing in the orchestra, dressing up and being with many very talented musicians. Dennah is looking forward to more orchestra events in the future under the instruction of Dr. Hansford, a man she truly enjoys and respects! Lillie on the other hand, loves to listen to the orchestra (especially the brass) but is very happy to have this event behind her. She will not be continuing on with orchestra next semester with Dennah. Nevertheless, we are just thrilled that Lillie and Dennah were given the opportunity to be part of this special holiday event that was a sweet reminder that God is worthy of praise and Jesus is truly the reason for the season!
