The Heredia's

Courtney, Uncle Armando, Becca and Auntie Rana

It just wouldn't be the same if we made a trip to California and didn't stop by and have dinner with the Heredia family. Last year, we made quite an impression on them. One of my precious children felt inspired to climb the hill above their house and somehow dislodge a boulder which then tumbled down the hill and smashed their picnic table. Uncle Armando wad very kind about the whole thing and assured me that he could repair it. This year, we couldn't help but think our last year's visit had inspired their wonderful new outside dining area. It is no where near the hill that had the boulder and their picnic table is new & improved. Humbling when I think about it.

We had a wonderful time visiting with our dear friends. Auntie Rana served a delicious dinner & dessert. Courtney was able to take a break from her busy schedule to come by to join us. Becca was only days away from moving out to go to school in Quincy, CA, so we consider ourselves blessed to have gotten to spend time with her as well. Becca & Hattie are special friends so Hattie was happy to have squeezed in a some added extra time with Becca while we were staying at the beach. Uncle Armando was quite the trooper when he joined Brent and our five youngest for a tour of the area to see our old house so the "big" girls could visit. It was so nice to catch up. Auntie Rana has started a quilt pattern company (Sewn into the Fabric) and writes a delightful blog. Always makes me smile when she shares about life around their house. Most amusing. So glad we are friends...just wish we lived closer together and that they would just forget about our weather and move to Oklahoma.
