Today was Lillie’s 15th birthday. God has truly grown our sweet little girl into a delightful, godly young woman. Lillie’s birthday was over shadowed by a long day in the city with a van load of children for violin lessons and shopping. This didn’t stop Lillie from enjoying her special day. PTL!
Lillie chose mini chocolate doughnuts to eat in the car for breakfast, which blessed the younger Elliott’s greatly. While Lillie had her violin lesson, the rest of the crew made a couple returns and picked up a few last minute gifts for Lillie. After lessons were over, we picked up a Panera Bread sandwich for Lillie to go as a special birthday treat. The rest of us were grateful for a quick lunch at Sam’s Club which is the usual plan on violin lesson days. While out and about, Lillie found a few things she had wanted to pick up with her Christmas money. We also had her pick out a new Bible for her birthday. All this made it a good shopping day for Lillie.
After leaving the house at 7:15 AM and not getting home until 6:00 PM, it was good to finally be home. We hustled around to prepare for Lillie’s birthday celebration. Her theme was a DVD party. All the children dressed up as a favorite DVD character. Most creative and cute! We had a wonderful dinner where everyone gave Lillie a blessing for the coming year. Then she opened her gifts. Throughout the evening, Lillie was blessed by surprise visitors bearing gifts…Uncle Paul & Natalie, Mrs. Russell & Brian, and Mr. & Mrs. Mount. She also blessed by a day of birthday celebration messages left on our answering machine, as well as direct phone calls. So many people went out of their way to bless Lillie and we praise God for each of you.
Lillie is now half way to thirty. Where does the time go?! We are so grateful that God has Lillie’s heart and her desire is to serve Him. We look forward to seeing all that He wants to accomplish in her precious life during the coming year. Thank you God for sending Lillie to us 15 years ago and for the sweet, young birthmother who was willing to break her own heart to entrust Lillian Clara Elliott to our care.
Happy 15th Birthday Lillie. We love you!
