Yesterday, we took Hattie down to the Dallas Ministry Center to participate in the EXCEL program. We are very excited about this wonderful opportunity for Hattie but will miss her greatly. She will be there for eight weeks. This is the longest she will ever have been away from home. It has yet to be determined if it will be harder on her or her mama. Hattie will only be allowed two 15 minute phone calls home per week. We will all look forward to those special phone calls home when we can hear Hattie’s sweet voice.
The Dallas Ministry Center is a beautiful old hotel right in the middle of downtown. It is filled with history and charm. Hattie will share a room on the fourth floor with two other young ladies. Sun young Nam, from South Korea and Bethany Speed, from North Carolina. Bethany had not arrived when we dropped Hattie off but we did have the opportunity to meet Sun Young. We have heard that EXCEL program is very challenging, as well as life changing. Any prayers said on Hattie’s behalf while she is at EXCEL would be most appreciated. Our prayer is that God would use this time to grow Hattie in her walk with Him and direct her in the ways He would have her to go.
