Recital Day for Dennah

Today was a day filled with music for Dennah. She had two recitals at OBU...one for piano and the other for violin. In between recitals, she was even able to fit in one more practice for her violin recital with the pianist. With all praise to God, she played beautifully. Dennah is so blessed to have two highly skilled teachers who are willing to invest in her life.

Dennah played Lament by Rollin for her piano recital. She began taking from Mrs. Rachel Schmoyer this year. She used to take from Dr. Starla Hibler at ECU...a very hard act to follow but Miss Rachel is just wonderful! Change comes hard for Dennah but all things do work for good when we seek to follow God's will. It has been a blessing to have her piano lesson, violin lesson and orchestra practice all at OBU on the same day each week. A fun thing to know about Mrs. Schmoyer is that when Dennah first started taking lessons, she had very, very long hair. She recently had 27 inches cut and sold it for $1000.00. WOW! When Dennah first walked into Miss Rachel's office after she cut her hair, she thought she must have gone into the wrong place. Miss Rachel had to identify herself. How amusing! We think Miss Rachel's new hair cut looks very cute on her.


For the violin recital, Dennah played Tempo di Minuetto by Kriesler. Mr. Michael Dean, OBU Pedagogy Director, accompanied her. Mr. Dean was a huge blessing. Dennah continues to grow in her love and appreciation for her violin teacher, Mrs. Sarah Brown. Miss Sarah knows how to encourage, inspire and guide my precious daughter as a musician. We are so grateful for Miss Sarah.

Music is a gift from God and we are thankful that our sweet girl gives God the praise for her talent. May God continue to bless Dennah's efforts for His glory.
