Fishing with Daddy

For the triplet's birthday in March, Grandpa Russ and Grandma Julie generously sent them money which they used for fishing poles. Clay, Emma & Camie are thrilled to have poles of their own and feel very "big" to be counted among the fishing crowd of the family! On Saturday, Daddy took them fishing on the boat (a very special treat) and brought Becker along to handle the motor and help keep lines untangled, etc. They all had a great time with lots of success in the fish catching department.

Meanwhile, Parker amused himself along the shoreline with a large net. Much to his joy, he caught a crawdad. At Daddy's suggestion, Parker asked Lillie if he could put his unique catch in her fish tank that sits in our kitchen. This is where you will now find Parker's new friend...living among the goldfish. How fun!

This afternoon, Becker & Parker convinced their dad that swimming in the pond would be a great idea. They headed out with snorkels & masks in hand. Brent manned the boat while the boys enjoyed jumping off and swimming around it. They had a blast! Not my idea of fun...swimming in a pond you can't see the bottom that happens to be filled with tons of fish and whatnot. I stayed inside and held down the couch and got in a quick nap. Nevertheless, I am glad that the boat and pond are being put to good use by the more adventurous of the Elliott family.

Living in the country with a huge pond in our backyard does have advantages...outdoor entertainment, built in fun, and heart string tying opportunities. What a blessing!
