Today, we celebrated Parker's 9th birthday. It is hard to imagine that our last California baby is nine. It seems like yesterday that we received the call that a baby boy had been born that morning and a family was needed to come get him. What a marvelous day that was for our family! God was so merciful to send Parker to us! He blesses us daily and we praise God for him.
The theme for Parker's birthday this year was SNOW. Since the Lord did not see fit to send us real snow to work with, we had to improvise. It is amazing how you can tweak the names of things, use a little creativity and "ta-da"...a snow themed day materializes! Lots of fun was had throughout the day and in the end, Parker was abundantly blessed and very pleased.

Breakfast was Frosted Flakes with Snowball Chocolate Chip Scones...this really worked for Parker!
He was very happy with all the gifts he was blessed with...you can't go too wrong when you are nine with new shoes, a fun shirt, Mega Bloks, a Plasmacar and candy!
His "official" dessert was Snowball Chocolate Cupcake with Snowball Ice Cream. Earlier in the day he chose to have a snack of Snowball Marshmallows. (This treat is usually served at Easter to visualize the empty tomb...marshmallows wrapped in a biscuit.) Marshmallows went a long way today as a snowball substitute.
After dinner, we had fun with our Snowball Games...Drop the snowball into mouths, have the snowball tossed at you and catch it with your mouth, toss the snowballs up yourself and catch them with your mouth, and the final game of use a sling shot to shot your snowball to knock down the cups. There was going to be a snowball fight but catching them and eating them worked just as well. All was fun but the highlight seemed to be when Mama took a snowball to the bottom when someone's aim was bad with a sling shot!

Parker had a great day, filled with many special memories. We pray that he will continue to grow to be the man that God's desires him to be. May God bless our precious son this coming year, all for God's glory and Parker's good.
